The lifestyle can be demanding given that their free time is almost non existent. It is rare that the professional has more than an hour to exercise. Many professionals typically abstain from jewelry except maybe a designer men’s sport watch. Cuff links have garnered some attention, of late.
The work can be stressful and this can take its toll. For many executives, they play as hard as they work. To de-stress, many usually have a hobby or recreational outlet that they find relaxing. The type of activity can vary from person to person, but a sure fire cure to any stress related effect is a good long nap. An active lifestyle in itself has its advantages.
For those that play hard, there are many options. The up and coming professional is often a fixture at the trendy restaurants and night clubs. The more older professional tends to be more cerebral and engage in activities that are less active and perhaps more family related. Not all executives can be stereotyped. Many lead as boring a life as the next individual. Working long hours only allows for so much time for themselves.
More often than not, the professional is more health conscious. As a result, the explosion in healthy alternative foods, activities, and business has been significant. Many have turned to cooking for themselves. Here the home cooking equipment industry has seen it comeuppance. For example, a staple product in many kitchens is the cuisinart food processor. This has many uses and in some cases is just as important as the knife, cutting board, peeler, and juicer.
In short, a day in the life of a wall street executive can be as atypical as any other profession. However, movies today tend to depict certain groups in certain ways as to convey some type of social critique. This is of course the writer and director’s viewpoint and should not be taken as gospel.
